Write for the Rules of Gruesome

Now that we’re up and running the Rules of Gruesome is looking for contributors from the horror writing fraternity. We can’t pay because we’re very, very poor but we can link to your website and give you a bit of promotion and boost those book sales. The types of posts we want should be horror related and we’re leaving it open for you to decide what a fun thing to write about.

There are a few rules:

• Posts should be well-written (of course) and have something interesting to say. That could be a review of a classic book you’ve read, your take on a particular genre, tips for writing horror or even a run down of your own writing process.
• Your post shouldn’t be self-promotional. We’re happy to add a biography and link to your site but the main post is to be add free (so no sneaky links either).
• We prefer longer posts, anything over 1,000 and under 3,000 words is ideal. If it’s shorter and we like it, however, we’re happy to give you a go.
• If you’ve got a short story of mystery and imagination, we’re happy to post if it tickles our fancy but please to try to avoid excessive gore – we don’t mind a bit but suspense and intrigue are more our thing.

You should include a short bio with where you want to link to. We’re happy for multiple links such as website, social media etc but not sites like Amazon etc where you have something for sale.

We’re still working on the design of the site at the moment but we’re hoping to grow this into a really good, fun resource. We need your help to do that. So get writing!
